Infants < 1 year: - Consult a physician before using Pedialyte®.
Children 1 - 2 years: - Give 50 - 100 ml per episode of diarrhea and/or vomiting, up to a maximum of 1 L over a period of 24 hours.
- Attempt to give solution as soon as diarrhea begins. Offer small frequent sips every 15 minutes, increasing serving size as tolerated.
Children 2 - 9 years: - Give 100 - 200 ml per episode of diarrhea and/or vomiting, up to a maximum of 1 L over a period of 8 to 24 hours. Offer small frequent sips every 15 minutes, increasing serving size as tolerated.
Adults, adolescents and children ≥ 10 years: - Take 200 - 400 ml per episode of diarrhea and/or vomiting, or as much as wanted. Offer small frequent sips every 15 minutes, increasing serving size as tolerated.
Use Pedialyte® rather than juices, soft drinks, sports drinks or water to prevent dehydration caused by diarrhea or vomiting.
Duration of use: continue as long as diarrhea or vomiting is present. For occasional use only.
Storage: store at room temperature. After opening, refrigerate and use within 48 hours.

- Individuals who must limit their fluid and electrolyte intake should consult a physician before using Pedialyte®.

- Continue to give/take solution until diarrhea stops.
- Consult a health care practitioner if signs of severe dehydration occur: changes in mental status such as irritability, lack of interest or inactivity, reduced urine output, dry mouth, increased heart and/or breathing rate, decreased tears and/or sunken eyes.
- Consult a health care practitioner if signs of electrolyte imbalance occur such as: disproportionate thirst, muscle weakness, or swelling of the hands, face and/or feet.
- Consult a health care practitioner if diarrhea contains blood or mucous, is accompanied by a high fever, yellowing of eye or skin, or persistent vomiting, if vomit is green or contains blood, is accompanied by severe abdominal pain, a high fever or if a bowel obstruction is suspected.
- If you have a gastrointestinal obstruction, cardiovascular or kidney disease, consult a physician prior to use.
Recommended use: oral rehydration solution to help prevent dehydration and restore fluids, electrolytes and zinc caused by (acute/watery) diarrhea and/or vomiting (due to acute gastroenteritis).
